    Hadiza Bala Usman is the former managing director of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) and has spent many years serving her country in congress and numerous public service roles.

    Before her appointment as the first female Managing Director of the NPA in its 63 years of existence, Hadiza worked at the Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE). She was then hired by the UNDP for the Federal Capital Territory Administration as Assistant to the Minister on project implementation. Her wide-ranging impact in these positions culminated in her appointment as the Chief of Staff to the Executive Governor of Kaduna State, again, the first female to be so appointed in that part of the country.

    When, in July 2016, she was appointed its Managing Director/CEO, Hadiza Bala Usman became the first woman to head the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA). Before then, she had set the record as the first woman in nordlig Nigeria to hold the position of Chief of Staff, which she was to the then Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai.

    Hadiza Bala Usman (born 2 January 1976) is a Nigerian politician who served as managing director of the Nigerian Ports Authority from 2016 to 2021.[1] She previously served as the chief of staff to the governor of Kaduna State from 2015 to 2016.[2] She was appointed special adviser on Policy and Coordination Central Delivery Coordination Unit (CDCU) to President Bola Tinubu in June 2023 together with Hannatu Musawa[3] who's currently serving as Minister of Art, Culture and the Creative Economy of Nigeria.

    Since 2014, she is one of the co-founders of the Bring Back Our Girls campaign, and is also a founding member of the ruling All Progressives Congress.[4]
