I used to watch Gilmore Girls reruns as a kid, but never watched the full series in order. Last year, during my freshman year of college, my binge-watching habit led me to watching the full series in order. I have yet to see the new rendition because...college. First night of winter break it's just me and the Gilmore girls.

Pony and his two brothers just lost both of their parents in a car accident and are living on their own on the East side of town, aka the poor side of town. They are referred to as the Greasers as the rich West siders are known as the Socs.

Continuing on in the story, a Soc nearly drowns Ponyboy in a fountain and a fellow Greaser steps in and stabs the Soc, killing him. The boys hide outside of town as they will surely be wanted for murder.

The boys continue to hide, run, and be beaten up as outsiders. That is why Pony is writing this book. As a part of grief and for all of the other outsiders in the world.

The book is referenced in Gilmore Girls during t
