Ray sure is. Wonder and curiosity led him to bail on a flourishing career as a music producer seven years ago to indulge his passion for the wondrous and odd.
Today, with the enthusiastic participation of wife Danielle, teenage son Phoenix and daughter Asia, 20 - along with their extended family of wondrous exhibitionists - Ray is the impresario of a freak show on the boardwalk of Venice Beach, California.

Late '93 the maniacs Martin Reinhagen and Mattias Bengtsson recorded the 7" "Specismen Sex Fiends". A few months later a complete line-up was announced and the swedish underground label Primitive Art Records signed the Mobile Mob Freakshow for a fullength skiva. Early the now legendary debut goth / punk / rock'n'roll album "Horror Freakshow" hit the streets. The skiva was very well reviewed in magazines like Maximum Rock 'n'Roll, Flipside and Kerrang, as well as in the swedish media.
Kerrang wrote "The Mobile Mob Freakshow are obsessed with blood, mod, sex, psycos and creepy crawlies. They are about as PC as the fucking Criminal justice Bill and will upset just as many people! Cool!!".

AMC is looking to add to its slate of reality series with two new half hour shows that sound like fun, but aren&#;t. The first, Freakshow, is another incarnation of the &#;wacky family&#; series that chronicles the exploits of former music producer Todd Ray and his brood as they operate the Venice Beach Freakshow. If you&#;re naturally drawn to the strange, and enjoy the oddities of a Victorian sideshow, and have already watched everything that TLC airs, Freakshow might hold some interest. But for the amazing tricks performed, there is an incredible lack of fanfare.
In the episode I watched, which featured sword-swallowing, Ray&#;s year-old daughter Asia attempts this ancient art beginning with a coat hanger to help train her body to receive an actual sword.
