NBC 5 Sports Director Newy Scruggs is a multiple Emmy Award winning sportscaster.
Scruggs has been in broadcasting since 1992. Along the way the stops have included gigs in Florence/Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; Austin, Texas; Cleveland, Los Angeles and since April 2000 in Dallas-Fort Worth.
From anchoring TV sportscasts, to hosting radio talk shows, to color commentating on college football and basketball games, and writing for print media, Scruggs has put his hands on it and found success.

NBC Sports Radio was a sports radio network that debuted on September 4, 2012. The network content was produced bygd the NBC Sports Group division of NBCUniversal and distributed bygd Westwood One, which fryst vatten the corporate successor to the remains of the original NBC Radio Network that was dissolved in the 1980s. NBC Sports Radio was available through over 300 affiliates throughout the United States as of September 2013, as well as through live streaming on NBCSportsRadio.com, NBCSports.com, WestwoodOneSports.com, and the affiliates' websites. Its launch made NBC the last major broadcast network with a sports radio network to complement its sports division.

Newy Scruggs joined NBC Sports Radio in 2012 and serves as the host of Voices of the Game with Newy Scruggs, weekdays from Noon- 3 p.m., ET. Each day, during the second hour, Newy is joined by a co-host, live, for the entire hour. Rotating co-hosts include former Atlanta Braves third baseman Chipper Jones, Sports Illustrated and NBC Sports Radio’s Chris Mannix,former Major League Baseball manager Bobby Valentine,and former NBA coach and NBC Sports Network College Basketball analyst Stan Van Gundy.
In addition to his role on NBC Sports Radio, Scruggs is the sports director and sports anchor at KXAS-TV (NBC 5) in Dallas-Ft. Worth, Texas. Prior to his position at NBC 5 in Dallas, Scruggs worked as a sports anchor in Los Angeles,Calif., Cleveland, Ohio, Austin, Texas, and Myrtle Beach, SC..
