The Honorable Chris Lee
Chris Lee was first elected to the Hawaii State Legislature in 2008. He represents District 25 in the Senate. He previously served as House Majority Whip and as the Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee.
Senator Lee was named Best Policymaker in 2016 by the US Green Building Council Center for Green Schools and Green Schools Network for authoring legislation directing all public educational campuses to become energy net-zero facilities. He is a 2015 recipient of the Transformational Achievement in Advancing Clean Energy Award presented by the Hawaii Energy Policy Forum for passing a law making Hawaii the first state to require electricity sold by utilities to come from 100 percent renewable energy by 2045.

Lee has also been a motion picture and television producer, and, as the president of production at TriStar Pictures and Columbia Pictures, the first Asian American or minority to run production at a Hollywood studio.

Christopher Kalani Cushman Lee (born January 28, 1981) is an American politician and a Democratic member of the Hawaii Senate. He was the youngest member and only millennial serving in the Hawaii State Legislature when elected in November, 2008. He currently serves as Majority Whip and Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee. He also serves on the boards of several non-profit organizations and commissions.
Lee is a supporter of addressing climate change and has authored laws making Hawaii the first state to mandate 100 percent renewable energy by 2045, the first state to commit to economy-wide carbon neutrality by 2045, and the first state requiring all public schools and universities to upgrade and become net-zero facilities by 2035.[1][2] He is an advocate for equal rights, serving as spokesperson for the campaign to pass the Hawaii Marriage Equality Act in 2013, and authoring two laws protecting trans
