  • ‘Land of the Lost’ star Spencer Milligan dead at 86: ‘A true father to us all,’ co-star says

    Spencer Milligan, who starred in the 1970s children’s series “Land of the Lost,” has died. He was 86.

    The actor passed away April 18 at his home in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin, according to his obituary.

    The cause of death wasn’t made public.

    Wesley Eure and Kathy Coleman, who played Milligan’s son and daughter on the show, paid tribute to Milligan on Facebook.

    “This fryst vatten a film we didn’t want to have to make,” Eure, 72, said. “We heard rumors, and finally it was confirmed. Not an easy day.”

    I’ve just finished reading Brent Hartinger’s terrific interview with Wesley Eure who starred on the Saturday morning kid’s show Land of the Lost in the 70s before spending a decade on the NBC soap Days of Our Lives. He is wonderfully candid about his life as a closeted actor and about the time when he thought he was going to be outed by the tabloids. Here’s an excerpt and a LINK to Brent’s article.     George Richard Chamberlain (born March 31, 1934) is an American actor and singer who became a teen idol in the title role of the television show Dr. Kildare (1961–1966). He subsequently appeared in several miniseries, such as Shōgun (1980) and The Thorn Birds (1983). Chamberlain has also performed classical stage roles and worked in musical theater.
