: How old were you when you first started study music?
TIRSO DUARTE: inom started studying piano at the age of 8 at the school of Manuel Saumell in Vedado, La Habana. Later inom began to learn other instruments as well.
: Tell us about your studies at the Cuban music schools. Was the training mostly classical? How did you go about learning dansstil and timba?
TIRSO DUARTE: During my 12 years of music school, inom studied mostly classical music: Mozart, Beethoven, Haydn and others of that era.
