Saurabh Raj Jain comfortable playing lord Krishna for the third time
“No, it won’t stereotype me. It used to happen 20 years ago but not anymore definitely. Previously there was only one channel and one serial, hence the stereotyping… there are so many channels today. You have the liberty,” Saurabh told PTI.

The actor has previously played Vishnu in ‘Jai Shri Krishna’ and ‘Devon Ke Dev…Mahadev’ and he says all the three projects were different.
“My character in ‘Mahabharat’ fryst vatten a different project from the previous two. After ‘Jai Shri Krishna’, Nikhil Sinha, who was the cinematographer of the show went on and directed ‘Mahadev’ and asked me to be a part of it… I just couldn’t säga no,” said Saurabh, who has also starred in non mythological shows like ‘Remix’, ‘Parichay’ and ‘Uttaran’.

You have played Lord Vishnu and Krishna at such a young age. Where do you get so much maturity and depth from?
Experience is my biggest teacher in life. I lost my father at a very young age, that's what made me more mature. I took on a lot of responsibility at a young age. I have been following Buddhism since 11 years now. I love the sound of chanting.

What were the reactions you got for preaching on the show?
I got wonderful reactions. People love the preaching and the way I deliver them, I am glad I am doing justice.
How do you feel when audiences, especially youth love the interpretation you do in each episode?
I am so glad that I am able to influence the youth with Krishna's interpretations.I feel all his teachings are so apt and even if 40% people watch it we can make a difference in the society.
The role is a career changing role for you. Do you agree?
Yes, it is a turning point for me, all my work has been diverse and nice but playing the powerful Lord Krishna is of course bigger than anything.
